Creative work needs material around the workflow: references, comparisons, fragments, prompts, notes, and things that are not ready to become instructions. Putting all of that into executable nodes makes a graph look complete while making its meaning worse.
A separate visual space
Brainstorm Panels are searchable, freely arranged surfaces for images, videos, prompts, and notes. They support their own selection, navigation, alignment, presentation, replacement, relinking, and durable media descriptors.
They deliberately do not add ports or participate in graph execution. The distinction matters. A reference board surrounds the work. A node changes it.
The same rule already shaped Groups and Assets
A Group is a frame around executable work, not another execution step. An Asset is reusable source material with revisions and ownership, not a live dependency that silently changes every placed workflow. The Brainstorm Panel follows the same principle: creative organization should be powerful without corrupting the system it organizes.
